Craftsmanship
Jason Ree, an Australian designer, is convinced that you can produce jewels with small impact on the environment and respect to social justice. Realising pieces in Australia for more than 20 years now, he collaborates with suppliers having the same ethic as him and is part of several organisations promoting sustainable practice in the jewellery industry. He works in his family owned workshop and encourages an atmosphere of honesty and respect all through the creation process.
As highly trained craftspeople, Jason Ree’s team produces traditional jewels (like engagement or wedding rings), but also Jason Ree’s team has developed a very original technique the “Mokune Gane”. Coming from the XV century’s Japan and traditionally used for Samurai’s sword, Jason adapted it for his modern rings. Jason Ree is one of the few artisans in Australia who can do this highly labour intensive process. Transparence is very happy to distribute for the first time these jewels in Switzerland
